mec-4

UE – 300378 - Introduction to biodiversity and ecosystem research (5 ECTS)

Dear students,

MEC-4 is a module/course in which students shall conduct small research projects individually, under the guidance of the involved supervisors (see below) and embedded in the various contributing research groups/departments.

To facilitate your choice of a research topic and group, we have listed below all contributing lecturers and their research topics. Please note, that only these lecturers can supervise students in this course.

Please, contact the lecturer of your choice before the preparatory meeting to talk about the specific topic they offer, and a suitable time to conduct the project. Each lecturer will host between 1 and 2 students for a specific research project. The individual research projects will be carried out - if possible - in presence in the lab, or in an alternative or online form, depending on the project and the current COVID situation (please contact your supervisor for details).

The preparatory meeting will take place online at 11th October 2021 from 9:45-10:45 am in the seminar room 1.7, UBB, Djerassiplatz 1, 1030 Vienna. During this meeting the decision will be made which students will join which research groups. Attendance of this meeting is compulsory. The final seminar, where each student will present his or her research project, will be scheduled for January, and/or (if required) in end of February 2022.

If you have any question regarding the organization of MEC-4, please contact Christina Kaiser
